Memories of lost love
40 years from now, you might be laying in solitude on a rocking chair with a hot mug of coffee in your hand. A retired, rich, old man with grey hair and wrinkled skin. Taking small sips of your hot coffee, as each sip of the dark coffee brings a flashback of the times you had spent with the girl you loved.
You take the first sip and recall when you were 9. The times when you used to chase her all around the playground, pulling her ponytail trying to tease her. She used to pinch you and call you an idiot. But the word 'Idiot' sounded miraculously sweet as it came out of her tiny little mouth.
A tear rolls down your cheek and you take another sip.
The second sip reminds you of the days when you woke up for school just because you could catch a glimpse of her, as you peeped into her class evertime you passed through the hallway. There she was sitting with nerdy glasses on and you couldn't take your goddamn eyes off her.
The third sip takes you back to the exact same place where you proposed her for the first time. With a red rose between your teeth, cracks in your voice and shaking hands, you whispered that you were in love with her. She blushed and looked away, but you both exactly knew what your young hearts were whispering with love.
Taking the fourth sip, you recall the day you graduated from high school, with a marksheet in one hand and her hand in another - you promised her that you'd always be together. Little did you know that life sets its own rules and the bitter realities of life, parted your ways apart. She moved to a different place with different dreams and you gradually lost touch. Trying to chase materialistic wealth and fame, all the gold and glitter - you almost forgot to chase and protect your biggest treasure, your love, before she got lost into the depths & vastness of this universe.
